WHEN CRUSADE MEETS REALITY

 

The Supreme Court’s overturning
Of Roe v. Wade
Has exposed the false simplicity
Of the anti-abortion crusade
 
To the crusaders
Life begins at fertilization
(Maybe even before)
It’s as simple as that
Any human intervention
Not putting that life first
Should be subject to prosecution
 
But pregnancy is not that simple

(Nor for that matter is life)
Before and during
Uncertainty and complications abound
The certainty perceived by a minority
Should not curtail the choices
Available to the majority
