John McCain
Was an honorable man
He served the country heroically
In a way only a few can
In the world of politics
And political grandstanding
His was a voice of decency
And bi-partisan understanding
His priorities were not
Money and adulation
His country came first
Not self-aggrandization
He was not perfect
None of us are
But if a child wants someone to emulate
Point to John McCain’s star
