The Republican debt limit increase
Which tied raising the limit
To substantial spending decrease
 
House Republicans thus served a screamer
Into the Dem’s court
Can the Dems return the serve
With a defensible retort?
 
The goal now for each side
Is to make the other look the loser
Admitting to a compromise?
Not the desired political maneuver
