Just defending his country
Was Putin’s justification
On Russia’s Victory Day
For his Ukrainian invasion
 
Putin was a bit muted
In his celebratory activities
Maybe he’s disappointed
And not up to festivities
 
His military has underperformed
It’s turned out not to be
The invincible behemoth
The world thought initially
