Is concerned
about Confederate heritage
But shouldn’t
traitorous generals who lost battles
Be more
appropriately confined to a hermitage?
Bragg,
Benning, Hood
Are familiar
to any Army veteran
But these
names were bestowed
During Jim
Crow with no future reflection
Unfortunately
Confederate heritage
Is not
only about honoring soldiers
Who fought
bravely for a bad cause
But also
about imbedded racism
Which should
give us pause
Time for
a national change
About attitudes
on race
If you
can’t see the hurt
You haven’t
gotten to first base
If you
can see the hurt
But don’t
care
Maybe you’re
really
Beyond repair
If you
can see the hurt
But indeed
rejoice
You made
the
Confederate
heritage choice
