Nasty cut on the thumb yesterday

Right at the base of the nail

Blood flowed quite freely

With gauze and tape on the thumb

Finally ended the drama

And discarded the plastic bag

Containing bloody napkins from the trauma

Thumb was pretty restrained

Did not realize how important it was

For instance try wiping your butt

With your thumb immobilized in gauze
