Doc Oz implied that Pennsylvania
Had an Atlantic Ocean coast
Perhaps geography isn’t a subject
About which he can boast
 
Or perhaps he was alluding to
A possible climate change consequence
Of New Jersey and Delaware
Being underwater and no longer in existence
 
Or perhaps he is confused
About the state in which he’s running
New Jersey where he lives
Or Pennsylvania where he’s campaigning

TIRED OF ELECTION ANALYSIS?

 

Down to the last week
Tired of election analysis?
Which will come first
November 8 or mental paralysis?
 
The media and talking heads
Are having a ball
Dems are up, GOP down
Now GOP up, Dems down
Or maybe it’s
The other way round
 
Both Dems and Republicans
Predict dire consequences
Including the end of civilization
If the other party advances

CHANGING NATURE OF CITIZENSHIP

 

Citizenship used to entail
Duties and responsibilities
But today for some
Such quaint concepts are hilarities
 
Indeed, for this group
Being a citizen means
Only that you’re free
To do pretty much what you want
To answer to virtually nobody

To public discourse deteriorating

Wannabe bullies with guns
Are trying to intimidate citizens in Arizona
Hanging out near voting places
Ostensibly to maintain order
 
Their real motivations, however
Are likely decidedly mixed and varied
For some, guns establish their identity
For others, the possibility of mayhem and anarchy
Is what wags their needles fundamentally

ROUSING THE RABBLE

 

The political rhetoric
Particularly from the right
Is motivating the whack jobs
To violence, crimes, and fight
 
Tone down the rhetoric?
Not likely possible
Too many pols enjoy
Rousing the rabble
 
The Orange Hoax’s legacy
Will likely be
A polarized nation
Mired in threatening, belligerent oratory

LOCAL POLS AND YOUR MEDICAL CARE

 

Doc Oz wants local political leaders
Involved in your medical care
Turn your head and cough
A City Councilman has hold of your pair
 
The Mayor is giving
A rectal examination
The Town Treasurer is checking
Toe fungus penetration
And the City Manager is focused
