So the Dems’ goal should be
Making a case for history
When future generations look back
They should simply conclude

Needed are at least
Seventeen Republican Senators
Each with a spine
And that many will be

The Hoax’s arrival at Mar-a-Lago
Will likely coincide
With the arrival of more subpoenas
Than dead fish on a flood tide

THREE DAYS TO GO

 

The Orange Hoax is keeping
A pretty low profile
Relying on his militias
To turn up the violence dial
 
What are the goals
Of the far-right wing?
Most likely blood, chaos
And an exciting little fling
 
Meanwhile sane Americans
Are going about their business
Hoping to return
To a period of peacefulness

TWENTY-ONE GUN SALUTE

The outgoing Wannabe Emperor
Is planning for himself
A ceremonial exit
Celebrating all his great stuff
 
The exit just might include
A twenty-one gun salute
Which presents an opportunity
For more fun than just a big shoot
 
If the military wanted
To play a little joke
It could replace shells that go BANG
With shells that just exude smoke
 
That of course would make
The Orange Hoax very irate
All the more reason

One last weekend
And then the Orange Hoax
Is done and around the bend
 
The chaos, ineptitude, and hostility
That he leaves behind
Will likely haunt the nation
For a considerable time

Are a polarized nation
A broken Republican party
And far-right terrorists
Primed for insurgency
 
Indeed the number of Americans
Addicted through the Internet
To far-right absurdities
Makes you really sweat

“PROTECTED SPEECH”

 

The Orange Hoax’s legal position
Is that inciting a mob to insurrection
Is just protected speech
Not requiring criminal consideration
 
Under this theory
Inflammatory words don’t matter
They are no more than
Idle political chatter
 
What will the next few days
Bring to the nation
Widespread armed mob violence?
Or a measure of reconciliation?

Wow!
What a President
He’s been impeached twice
A first for a White House resident
 
Naturally most Republicans
Were opposed to the action
But a minority saw
That their party was in traction
 
Unable to accept
That their leader was a fraud
A narcissistic buffoon
A loud mouth blowhard
 
What is the future
Of the Republican brand?
As an intellectual endeavor
It appears buried in the sand

The attack last week
Instigated by the Orange Hoax
On the legislative branch
Was at one level no joke
 
And the exuberant reaction
In far-right communities
Has opened many eyes
To the danger of these loonies
 
The extremists apparently desire
An armed takeover
Of the American government
And for the nation itself
A complete ideological makeover
 
Or maybe they were just
And over-enthusiastic bunch

After a DC street-vendor lunch
