LESSONS LEARNED

 

Judged by the efforts
Of the last half-century
Remaking other nations
In our own image
Hasn’t proven to be
A successful trajectory
 
In Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam
We certainly didn’t prevail
The locals were too resistant
To our attempts to spin a tale
Of everlasting happiness
If they would Western values inhale
