ORGY OF RETRIBUTION

 

The Orange Huckster is leaning more and more
Toward an orgy of retribution
If he is again
The President of the nation
 
Such a policy appeals
To the portion of the population
Who view life as a kick in the groin
Followed by unceasing repetition

80 YEARS AGO

 

80 years ago, 6 June 1944
In Normandy they came ashore
Mosty Americans, British, Canadians
But forces of ten other nations
Were part of the allied corps
 
A columnist for a small newspaper
In rural Westmoreland County Virginia
Finished a column she was writing that day
With a bit of poetry:
 
“Our hearts, our hopes, are all with
     thee
Our hearts, our hopes, our prayers,
     our tears
Our faith triumphant o’er our
     fears
Are all with thee—are all with
     thee!”

Republicans refused to take action
On the border situation
So Joe stepped in and Republicans
Naturally voiced ridicule and objection
 
Republicans are like the kid
Who gets what he or she wants
But just can’t stop
With the whines and the pouts

MARJORIE MISSES THE SPOTLIGHT

 

Obviously upset that she hasn’t been
In recent days the center of attention
Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene
Took out her wrath
On Doctor Anthony Fauci
And his covid intervention math
 
She was particularly upset
About the masking requirement
Viewing it as un-American
And Dr. Fauci as incompetent and a tyrant
 
You go, Marjorie
You’re a star of the Republican Party
At least the whacko portion
Which is almost the majority

BUSY TIME AHEAD

Busy time ahead for the Orange Huckster
Debate with Joe
Sentence from a judge
Appeal of conviction
Maybe more trial preparation
And finally in five months an election
 
But not just a busy time for the Huckster
Most of the nation
Is transfixed by the drama
And thus captive to the situation
 
And starting Monday
Is a trial of Joe’s son Hunter
Sorry Joe,
That’s a real bummer 

SEPARATION OF POWERS, AN ANACHRONISM?

 

Separation of powers
Among the three branches of government
Is being eroded
House Speaker Mike Johnson
Implies he’s in consultation
With Supreme Court Justices who feel
The Orange Huckster deserves vindication
 
More generally,
The Republican Party
Is no longer for law and order
What pleases the Orange Huckster
Is now the only criteria
 
Okay, hush money trial is done
So when starts the next one?
Not ‘til after the election?!
That’s no darn fun
