Joe seems to be recovering
From his initial Afghan blunder
But the operation’s not over
There still could be thunder
 
When the Americans are gone
What becomes of the country?
Will it return to the Middle Ages
Or remain in the 21st Century?
 
The prognosis is not good
Western values are not advancing
Cultural and religious obstacles
Are local intolerance enhancing
