Remember those wacky ‘60s? At least some of us old-timers
do, and you kids, you might have read about those years in your history
classes. (Do they still teach history in school?) Anyway, those were fun times.
A raucous group of anti-establishment, anti-government, anti-authoritarian
wackos dominated the national discourse. They were a minority of the population
but you would never know it from the amount of attention they attracted to
themselves. They competed with each other to see who could be the most
outlandish, who could produce the most consternation amongst their fellow
citizens.
